Mpaluka Said Nyangali (Mdude)

Biography

Mpaluka Said Nyangali, popularly known as Mdude, was a courageous activist of the opposition party CHADEMA. He was a well-known activist who dedicated himself to fighting for human rights and democracy in Tanzania. He was a husband and father of an infant child.

Circumstances

On May 2, 2025, Mdude was abducted from his home in front of his wife and infant child. The incident left behind a pool of blood at the scene. CHADEMA has been searching for him in various areas of Mbeya and police are suspected to be involved. CHADEMA leadership in Mbeya announced a 10 million TZS reward for any information leading to finding Mdude. His lawyer Boniface Mwabukusi, President of the Tanganyika Law Society, received death threats after speaking about this case. He has not been found to date.
